News and Upcoming Events: LAST CALL! PTA Memberships: If you would like to become a member of the PTA, registration forms and payments must be received by the end of the month. An individual membership is $10, joint membership is $15. (more information) Teacher Appreciation Day: Teacher Appreciation Day will be on May 20th. Volunteers are needed and your donations would be greatly appreciated. (more information) Camp Invention: Camp Invention is coming to Lagrange Elementary School July 19 - 23 from 9:00 PM - 3:30 PM. Register by March 31st to receive a $25 discount. (more information) Important Calendar Change: Due to recent weather related school closings, Beekman elementary will be open on Monday, March 29th. All students, faculty and staff should be in attendance. (more information) Arts Fair: Join the Arlington Central School District and the Arlington Council PTSA for an Arts Fair on Saturday, March 20th at LaGrange Middle School from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM. There will be hands on workshops, student music ensembles, a faculty art exhibit and more. (more information) Class Placements for '10-'11: Due to recent changes in NYS Assessment schedules, teachers and administrators will no longer be able to inform parents of their chidren's new teachers on the last day of school. This information will now be provided by mail on or around August 1st. (more information) BES Math, Science & Technology Expo: The Math, Science and Technology Expo is a non-competitive event that allows children to share and learn from each other. This year's expo will be held on Thursday, April 15th. Registration forms are due by March 12th. (more information) Sports Carnival: Arlington High School Athletes and the Athletic Booster Club are holding a fun-filled day of games for all students preschool through grade 5 on Sunday, March 7th from 11-3. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Admission is $5 per child and proceeds will go to Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. (more information) Arlington Budget Forums: The Board of Education and District Administration invite you to Town Hall style budget forums to provide your input. Meetings will be held: March 11th at 7:00 PM at Union Vale Middle School March 17th at 7:00 PM at LaGrange Middle School March 25th at 7:00 PM at Arlington Middle School (more information) PARP - Dive Into Reading: PARP (Parents as Reading Partners) will run February 22 - March 19. Visit our PARP page for information and forms. Lost in Time Art Show: You're invited to participate in the 6th annual MORE art show. Artwork will be displayed May 3-7 and the parent and child reception will be held on May 6th. (more information) Union Vale After School Program: There is still room available in the Union Vale after school program. Hours are M-F 3:30-6:00PM. The program is open to children in grades 1-5. (more information) Daffodil Days: Please consider supporting the American Cancer Society by ordering fresh-cut or potted daffodils. The flowers will arrive in mid-March and proceeds support the American Cancer Society's vital programs. Response from Our Troops:
 We have received several wonderful letters of thanks from the troops who received the care packages the Helping Hands Committee sent out in November. The packages contained Halloween candy, games, toiletries, letters and pictures from the children. You can read the letters here.
